The Ridings, Dorchester
Ne Commercial Aluminium Entrance Doors with Automation.
This scheme manager of this residential retirement complex, contacted us to provide a quotation for a new automated aluminium entrance door to replace the old wooden ones.
The original entrance consisted of a pair of equal split doors with one active leaf and another which was only opnened on the odd occasion for moving large objects in and out.
.
After some discussions it was decided that they wanted a wider door, which would allow more room for wheelchairs and mobility scooters to come in and out. The also still wanted the full width to be available, should larger items need moving in and out. So an offset split of doors was decided upon.
A detailed quotation was prepared and sent by e-mail to the scheme manger. She had a few questions, whch were quickly answered and a purchase order was soon received.
CAD drawings were prepared and submitted consideration and approval.
After receiving the go-ahead for the drawings, we put the doors into production. Risk and method statements were prepared and sent.
A few weeks later, we were on site fitting the new entrance doors.
We had aleady arranged an NICEIC approved electrical contractor to fit the mains electrical fused spur the week before, so that it was ready for us to connect into.
The new entrance was fitted in the morning and the automation was connected and commissioned in the afternoon on the same day to ensure that the door could be used and was secure for the evening.
The automation consisted of an Assa Abloy SW300 swing door operator with a powder coated lid to match the frame.
2 xBEA 4Safe safety sensors with 2 active infra-modules in each one (this ensures full width safety sensor coverage of the moving door)
A Covid-safe - "BEA Magic Switch" Touch Free exit button was fitted to open the door from inside. This makes exiting easier as a simple wave of the hand from a short distance away.
Being touch free, this limits the spread of germs and diseases.
