Access Controlled, Steel Fire Exit Door
We were asked by the present occupiers of the Grange Heights office complex to provide a new fire exit door for the staff car park entrance. The original door was an old wooden one, which had been badly damaged and repaired several times.
As the door was leading on to an underground car park the new door would need to be fire resistant as well as hard wearing and also had to be access controlled to work with the existing proximity fob access system.

A Steel Fire Exit door with an FD60 fire rating was fitted to protect the offices from the potential spread of flames if there were to be a fire in the underground car park,
Being a fire exit, the door was fitted with a heavy duty crash / panic bar for exit in an emergency
As the staff also needed to be able to enter the offices from the car park, the chosen panic bar was a motorised type, which can be electrically opened.
We added a 24v power supply and relay interface to the existing proximity fob access control system to allow staff to use their existing ID cards to unlock the door
The door was fitted with a heavy duty fire rated closer to ensure it always closes and locks
Stainless steel door handles and hinges not only look great, they are easy to clean, hygenic and hard wearing.
